This interactive prototype provides an opportunity to find an online community and find helpful crochet tutorials.
I began by researching crochet apps; what images, colors, typography they used, and what the app itself offered. I also looked at their audience's sex, age, and online presence. I then made an analysis based on the structure, usability, and design of each app. From my analysis I pulled ideas from the apps that had the highest ratings, and added features for the audience to connect and find tutorials. I then developed three wireframes, based on these findings, eventually one was chosen and used for the final prototype. For the final prototype I pulled everything together from my analysis and created an app for crocheters.
Crocheters of all experience levels and ages enjoy connecting and creating together. With the expanding industry that is already valued at $3 billion, more and more young people are crocheting, community is being built, and the economy is getting a boost.
The crochet community needed a place to connect, while also finding helpful tutorials on the craft for all experience levels.
